La 6 mai Marea Britanie alege un nou parlament. Viitorul legislativ va configura un guvern de coalitie. Partidul-balama si totodata factorl de veto vor fi liberalii britanici. Sondajele ne indica urmatorul tablou:
Partidul Conservastor 32% (257 mandate),
Partidul Laburist 23% (210 mandate),
Partidul Liberal 33% (150 de mandate).
Conditia unei participari liberale la o formula de guvernare este reforma electorala. Liberalii promoveaza introducerea sistemului de vot proportional pentru Camera Comunelor si reformarea Camerei Lorzilor si alegerea acestei camere dupa modelul uninominal.
Un guvern de coalitie ar fi noutate pentru Marea Britanie.
Compabilitati doctrinare intre liberali si conservatori se regasesc in politica economica.
Marea Britaniei nu poseda o constitutie scrisa. Conform cutumelor parlamentare, premierul britanic va ramine in functie, indiferent de rezultatul alegerilor. Premierul Brown va incerca insa sa formeze un cabinet minoritar sau un guvern de coalitie.
In cazul unei motiuni de cenzura, noul premier va guvern un guvern de coalitie.
Liberalii britanici detin o pozitie privilegiata. Liberalii pot forma un guvern de centru-stanga sau un guvern de centru-dreapta.
Nu este exclus ca viitorul premier britanica sa provina din randurile celui mai vechi partid politic britanic.
Mai jos un comentariu din cotidianul “Daily Telegraph”:
“There is growing speculation that David Cameron may be prepared to offer some concessions on electoral reform to gain Mr Clegg’s support if there is no outright election winner.
After another strong performance by the Lib Dem leader in the second televised debate, there is a real likelihood of a hung parliament.
Opinion polls taken within hours of the debate showed Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg with the same support among voters.
The Conservatives may have begun privately considering how a coalition government with the Liberal Democrats could be possible.
“If there is a hung parliament, we have to be responsible, we will have to try to make it work, we will have to make sure it works for the people in our country.”
But he appeared to rule out Vince Cable, the Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman. “I don’t agree with Vince Cable about [the] timing of spending cuts,” Mr Cameron said.
The comments indicate that the Conservatives have started to consider the possibility of working with the Lib Dems.

Cred ca e o eroare in articol. Liberalii britanici, cu 33% nu pot avea 150 de mandate in timp ce Laburistii, cu 23% au 210.
